Gelatin printing is a simple form of printmaking in which a gelatin slab is used in conjunction with acrylic paints to create images on paper. The basic materials are inexpensive and easy to access. No two prints are alike and the unique translucency allows for many layers to be developed into one artwork. The results are immediate and stand on their own as framable works of art but also make for a perfect starting point for other projects such as note cards, collage, handmade journals, drawing or mixed media. In this 3 hour workshop we will create several pieces that we will then have the option to turn into the products of our choice. The process is extremely versatile and fun and appropriate for all skill levels and ages.
